Welcoming Alexandra Keiser

We are pleased to announce that Alexandra Keiser has joined the Joan Mitchell Catalogue Raisonné as Project Manager. Keiser brings to the project two decades of experience, most recently as the co-editor of the digital catalogue raisonné of modern artist Alexander Archipenko (1887–1964). She actively participates in the Catalogue Raisonné Scholars Association, as a member of the board of directors and the organization’s managing director.

Alexandra Keiser stands in front of a bookshelf with various art catalogues. She is a white woman with shoulder length grey hair, wearing a black shirt and beaded necklace.

Established in 2015 as a project of the Joan Mitchell Foundation, the Joan Mitchell Catalogue Raisonné is an ongoing research project that will result in a scholarly publication containing authoritative information about Mitchell’s paintings, including high-quality illustrations; descriptive information; and detailed histories of ownership, exhibitions, and literature.

Keiser joins the project’s Researchers: Mara Hoberman, who has supported the project with research in Europe since 2015, and Abigael MacGibeny, a New York-based researcher who joined the project in January 2023. Read more below on each team member’s background and area of focus.
