As Paris-based Researcher for the Joan Mitchell Catalogue Raisonné, Mara Hoberman is responsible for provenance research, examinations, and photography coordination in Europe. Prior to joining the Joan Mitchell research team, Mara worked on the Jasper Johns Catalogue Raisonné of Drawings and as a curator at the Hunter College Art Galleries in New York.

Mara is also an art critic. A regular contributor to Artforum, she has also written reviews for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Whitewall, E-Flux’s Art Agenda, Art Slant, and Canvas. Her essays and interviews have been published in catalogues produced by galleries and museums including White Cube, Deitch Projects, the Swiss Institute, L&M Gallery, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Essl Museum, the Middleheim Museum, the Palais de Tokyo, and the Louis Vuitton Foundation.

Mara holds a BA from Wesleyan University and an MA in Art History from Hunter College (CUNY).
