Troy Montes Michie is an interdisciplinary painter and educator. Montes Michie’s recent solo exhibitions include Rock of Eye at the Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston (2022), and Black on the Face of the Moon, Company Gallery, New York (2025). Recent group exhibitions include shows at the Frist Art Museum, Nashville; ICA Los Angeles, Los Angeles; The Momentary, Arkansas; Philbrook Museum of Art, Oklahoma; The MAC Belfast, Ireland; and Whitney Museum of American Art, New York. His work was featured in the 2019 Whitney Biennial.
