About Maya Pen

Maya Pen sits and smiles brightly with her eyes closed, and a hand on her chin. She is a latina woman with long dark braided hair, medium-light skin tone, and wears giant hoop earrings, orange pants and chunky snakeskin boots.

Maya Pen is a community-taught interdisciplinary artist based in New Orleans. Her work gives voice to personal and collective histories through mythology and magical realism across SPFX, costume, scenic arts, photography, film, writing, and sound.
