About Lucia Honey

Lucia Honey is a video artist, musician, and writer based in New Orleans. She completed her BFA in interdisciplinary art at School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. In 2020, she was awarded the SMFA Traveling Fellowship to create new video work in Sicily. Honey has presented work across the Americas and Europe and has participated in numerous residencies, including ACRE, Offshore, SOMA Summer, and Material Institute, where she recorded her fourth album—Self Help—and now works managing social media platforms. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, learning languages, and traveling.

Working in sound and video, I’ve developed a series of avatars whose personal mythologies I use to examine gender intermediacy, emotional catharsis, and the diva archetype. I embody these personas to deconstruct pop music video tropes amidst sublime landscapes, exploring the opposition of digital sound and nature.”
