Lauren Galarza

Administrative Associate
Email

Lauren Galarza smiles in front of a shelf of art books. She has dark shoulder length hair in tight curls, medium-light skin tone, and wears a black turtleneck.

As the Administrative Associate, Lauren oversees the day-to-day functioning of the NY office, organizes staff events, and provides support to the Executive Director and Board. Lauren has fifteen years of professional experience in the nonprofit industry and as a freelance consultant. She began as a community organizer in NYC in 2008 and has since worked in a variety of local and national social change roles including as a direct service provider in a mental health shelter, operational work with a financial empowerment think tank, and as a criminal justice policy analyst. While Lauren has loved all the hats she has worn, her passion and tenacity will always lie with community work, especially those affected by the carceral system. Lauren holds a Bachelor's in Sociology from the University of Michigan and a Master's in Public Administration from Baruch College (CUNY).
