CALL/VoCA Talk: Legacy Specialist Panel 2019

As artists, we forget our work sometimes. And so, when we're reflecting back on pieces and pulling through the flat files and thinking through all those decades of work... there are some emotional moments and it really brings it back down to earth for me.”

On December 6, 2019, VoCA Program Committee member Christie Mitchell moderated a discussion with artists and CALL Legacy Specialists Lehna Huie and Beth Krebs at Pratt Institute. This conversation featured the voices of those artists who helped inventory and organize the work of the CALL recipients, and reflected upon each artist’s own work, as well as the intergenerational collaboration fostered by the program.

This event was one of a series hosted in partnership with VoCA to highlight the innovative CALL initiative while also underscoring the crucial need for dialogue with artists around the production, presentation, and preservation of their work. The full-length Talk is below, and transcripts of VoCA Talks are available upon request. Please direct queries to [email protected].
