I make documentary sculpture inspired by folk art, the Mexican mural movement, and expressionist portraits. I seek my identity as an artist in the context of the community. By lifecasting people publicly, I pay homage to that person and celebrate the shared social activity. Working in partnership with Rigoberto Torres, I focused first on specific public art projects in the Bronx. I have served as the first artist in the pilot residency programs of many institutions in the world, including the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin and the Inhotim Art Museum in Brazil.”
