This work, titled Archives, is made up of a wooden table and two wood chairs in front of a wall with partially exposed brick. At least five white scrolls on the table at first appear to be rolls of gauze.

A loosely woven basket is made up of clear glass strands in this sculpture titled Emmenagogues, oxytocics, cervical softeners, progesterone inhibitors and increasers. Mossy greenery wraps around the base, and a branch or vine is woven through the glass across the middle. Brown material, perhaps dried leaves, and tufts of greenery are inserted near the top of the basket.

This glass sculpture, titled Inherit, lies along a wooden table. Clear and frosty-white filaments create long, banner-like pages that lift up and flutter to our left in this view. Each banner is streaked with deep red along its center.

About Caitlin Ezell Waugh

Caitlin Ezell Waugh stands smiling in front of wood paneling, perhaps of an outdoor building. She is a white woman with dark brown hair. She wears a white and black horizontally striped shirt that falls off one shoulder, and she holds one arm behind her back.

Caitlin Ezell Waugh is a sculptor, preserver, and historical restoration artist based in New Orleans, LA. She explores decay, vulnerability, growth, and time through the treatment of glass, found objects, light, and plant material. Relationships between plants and people, especially in the context of stewardship, ceremony, and the body, are central to her studio practice, research, and civic engagement. She works in the expansive intersection of environmental and social justice. Waugh received her BA from Hampshire College and her MFA from Tulane University. She is diligently working to forge a path as a sculptural journalist.
