Joan Mitchell Foundation Honors the Artistic Practices of Its Artist-Teachers

JOAN MITCHELL FOUNDATION HONORS THE
ARTISTIC PRACTICES OF ITS ARTIST-TEACHERS
Opening Reception: Friday, January 28th, 7 - 9pm

(New York, NY) - Fenced and Stitched, an exhibition honoring the personal artistic practices of the Joan Mitchell Foundation Artist-Teachers, will be on view from January 28th - 30th, 2011 at the International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP).

The exhibition features the works of Natalie Beall, Jenn Brehm, Alan Calpe, Jaqueline Cedar, Rick Diaz, Dave Eppley, Chris Hagerty, Molly Herman, Cosme Herrera, Brian Hogan, Beth Krebs, Lael Marshall, Carlos Mateu, Emmy Kay Mikelson, Rose Nestler, Maia Palileo, Antonia Perez, Anne Polashenski, Jeffrey Ralston, Jaffia Royes, Wolfgang Ryan, Meghan Turbitt and Sher Wouters.

The Joan Mitchell Foundation Art Education Program hires local working artists to teach free after-school and Saturday studio art classes to New York City youth. Through these programs, the Artist-Teachers share their creative insight and skills with a younger generation of artists.

Show exhibition dates and times:
Friday, January 28th, from 7 - 9 PM
Saturday, January 29th, from 1 - 6 PM
Sunday, January 30th, from 1 - 6 PM

ISCP is located at 1040 Metropolitan Avenue in Brooklyn. By subway take the L train to Grand Street station. Walk three blocks east on Grand Street, turn left on Morgan Avenue and one block north to Metropolitan Avenue. ISCP is on Metropolitan Avenue between Morgan and Vandervoort Avenues. The entrance is on the loading dock at Vandervoort Avenue.
